This song was improv and an accident. I don’t even remember recording it, and it doesn’t remember being recorded – just fell into my lap months later. I was unable to recreate it after playing it that first time, so I just added some ambient notes to accent the most important parts of the chords. It is drowned in chorus and distortion because I play like that sometimes.
I love the intensity of a clean guitar part played through mountains of overdrive. Extra notes and harmonics sort of work their way in there. Being improvised, I’m not sure the same thing would exist if I had worked on it any more. It was a happy accident.
